Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to Kampala. The remainder of the day is at leisure as you prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depart Kampala and travel west to Kibale Forest National Park, widely known as the primate capital of the world. The journey takes you through scenic countryside, rolling hills, and local communities before arriving in the Kibale region, renowned for its rich biodiversity and tropical rainforest ecosystem.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
After a briefing at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre, enter Kibale Forest for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. As you search for habituated chimpanzees, you may also encounter other primates, birds, and forest wildlife. Later, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk where you can spot a variety of bird species, including the rare papyrus gonolek, as well as black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and vervet monkeys.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kazinga Channel Cruise
Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse wildlife destinations. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. The channel attracts large concentrations of wildlife including hippos, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, monitor lizards, and numerous bird species, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.
Day 5: Game Drive and Return to Kampala
Begin the day with an early morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains and other wildlife-rich areas of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, topis, waterbucks, hyenas, leopards, and other wildlife active during the cooler morning hours. After the game drive, begin the journey back to Kampala, with a stop at the Equator for photographs and sightseeing before continuing to either Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your departure.
