This 5-day Tanzania Wildlife Safari takes you through three of Tanzania’s most iconic safari destinations: Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater. The safari offers exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities, breathtaking landscapes, and the chance to encounter the Big Five while exploring some of Africa’s most celebrated wilderness areas.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your Mzanga Safaris guide will pick you up in Arusha and transfer you to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife, Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s hidden gems. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, and numerous bird species.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart Tarangire and journey towards the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. Enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Highlands along the way. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, embark on an afternoon game drive across the endless plains in search of predators, large herbivores, and other wildlife species that make this park one of Africa’s greatest safari destinations.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Spend the entire day exploring the vast wilderness of Serengeti National Park. Search for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and countless other animals. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the spectacular Great Migration, one of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

After a morning game drive, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend approximately 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders. Enjoy game drives across the crater floor while searching for black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, and numerous bird species. Visit the beautiful Ngoitoktok Springs before ascending from the crater.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Arusha

After breakfast, enjoy final wildlife viewing opportunities as you depart the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and return to Arusha. Along the way, take in the stunning landscapes of northern Tanzania and reflect on the unforgettable wildlife encounters experienced throughout your safari. Arrival in Arusha marks the end of your adventure with Mzanga Safaris.
