Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your Mzanga Safaris guide will pick you up in Arusha and transfer you to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s finest wildlife destinations. Famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds, the park offers excellent opportunities to spot lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, and numerous bird species. Enjoy an afternoon game drive before retiring for the evening.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Tarangire National Park
Spend the entire day exploring Tarangire National Park. The Tarangire River attracts large concentrations of wildlife, especially during the dry season. Enjoy extensive game drives while searching for elephants, predators, antelopes, and a wide variety of birdlife throughout the park’s diverse habitats.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park. This scenic park is renowned for its lush groundwater forests, soda lake, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, hippos, baboons, giraffes, zebras, and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.
Day 4: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater
Travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend approximately 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s natural wonders. Enjoy a game drive across the crater floor, where you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, wildebeests, zebras, and the endangered black rhino. Visit the beautiful Ngoitoktok Springs before ascending from the crater.
Day 5: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park
Depart Ngorongoro and proceed to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The endless plains of the Serengeti support one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Enjoy an afternoon game drive while searching for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and vast herds of wildebeests and zebras.
Day 6: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park
Spend the day exploring the Serengeti’s remarkable landscapes and abundant wildlife. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the Great Migration. The park also offers excellent opportunities to spot predators including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.
Day 7: Serengeti National Park – Lake Natron
After breakfast, depart for Lake Natron, one of Tanzania’s most unique natural attractions. Upon arrival, enjoy activities such as bird watching, guided walks along the lake shores, and viewing the thousands of flamingos that inhabit the area. The dramatic scenery of the Rift Valley and the nearby Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano create a truly unforgettable setting.
Day 8: Lake Natron – Arusha
After an early breakfast, enjoy the beautiful scenery around Lake Natron before beginning the return journey to Arusha. Arrive later in the day, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzania safari adventure with Mzanga Safaris.
