Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Your Mzanga Safaris guide will pick you up from Kampala or Entebbe and begin the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes you through Uganda’s scenic countryside, passing traditional villages, farmlands, and rolling landscapes. En route, make a stop at the famous Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, offering the unique opportunity to observe rhinos on foot in their natural habitat. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the top of the falls, where the mighty Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging dramatically below. Proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Begin the day with an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the park, renowned for its abundant wildlife. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, leopards, Jackson’s hartebeests, Uganda kobs, oribis, and numerous bird species. The vast savannah plains provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, expect to see large concentrations of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of water birds. The cruise offers spectacular views of the falls and one of the most rewarding wildlife experiences in Uganda.

Day 3: Return to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls National Park and begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy the scenic drive through rural Uganda and make brief stops along the way as desired. Reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters, the powerful Murchison Falls, and the unforgettable experiences enjoyed during the safari. Arrival is expected in the afternoon or evening, marking the end of your adventure with Mzanga Safaris.
